Documentation to Pocket Power Manager

Pocket Power Manager provides fast and handy access to power management features from the system tray of Today Window.

Pocket Power Manager is a powerful and handy tool for your every day use, allowing you to control your Pocket PC safely and easily.

Pocket Power Manager has also an auto-start mode to start Pocket Power Manager immediately after soft reset.


Installation

There are several ways to install the application onto your Windows Mobile based Pocket PC:

  1. Installing Software from a CAB File. By default the installation will be made into the default Program Files folder. Some programs (e.g. CAB Install) allows you to install Pocket Power Manager into the specified folder. With CAB Install you can also install Pocket Power Manager on memory card.
  2. Install from Windows-based desktop computer using Microsoft ActiveSync.

After you installed Pocket Power Manager, it will be added to the list of installed applications and to the "Remove Programs", so you can easily uninstall this software at any moment.


Setting Up

A window with "Settings" and "About" tabs will appear during the first start of Pocket Power Manager.

The Settings tab enables you to specify wich icons will be displayed in System Tray area. By default all four icons are checked.

You can also enable the Auto-start mode (starting after the soft reset). This option is turned off by default.

Also you can map any navigation button to quick access to all application's functions without stylus. Just press the navigation button to assign a quick access key.

Attention! At least one icon must be checked, otherwise the error message will be displayed:

After setting up the icons you can submit changes by pressing green button at the left bottom corner of the screen. This adds specified icons to the system tray and hides Pocket Power Manager main window:

All settings will be saved in the Windows Mobile system registry and will be restored after restart.


Using

You can enter the Stand-By mode or turn off the screen immediately by pressing the icon.

But if you wish to initiate a soft reset, you have to confirm the action:

Setting up the auto-start mode lets Pocket Power Manager to start immediately after soft reset. If application have already been configured the specified icons will be displayed in the System Tray. The main window will not be displayed in this case.


Using without stylus

Push and hold the mapped key (see Setting Up to learn how to map a button).
The following window will appear:


Use left/right keys to navigate through the icons and press the central navigation key to activate the wanted function.


Displays the following information: percentage of battery life remaining, percentage and amount of total/free program memory, percentage and amount of total/free space on your memory card.
Use Up/Down keys to show/hide of this information.

If you don't press any key during the 5 seconds, the window will close.
